The exam consists of 80 multiple choice, multiple answer and true/false questions. It is divided into 3 sections:
The Certification is open-book and open-platform. During the certification-taking process, you can access the Community resources and the platform itself to assist with answering the questions.
Exam Content
The General Knowledge Section consists of 30 multiple choice, multiple answer, and true/false questions. The exam is composed of questions which cover all aspects of the AtomSphere platform. Below is a list of topics you can expect to see covered:
The Practical Application Section has been constructed for registrants to troubleshoot a live AtomSphere Process. There will be a total of 20 multiple choice and true/false questions for this exam. These questions include a series of steps that the exam taker will follow to actively test the Process, review Documents and fix bugs. The current design includes a Process scenario that queries Contacts stored remotely and generates local files (saved to the Test Atom Cloud ‘work’ directory). The Process used will be automatically stored in your AtomSphere Account. Further access instructions will be provided once the Section is started. It is important to note that once you submit an answer to any question in the Practical Application Section, you will NOT be able to go back to change that answer or view any previous questions. Understand the following points to best approach this section.
The Build from Scratch Section provides you with a detailed integration goal that must be developed from the ground up. You must build a process that accomplishes all of the goals presented, as well as answer questions about the outcome and structure of the process you have built. Understand the following points to best approach this section.
Exam Scoring In order to pass the overall certification exam, you must complete the entire Program. You must achieve a score of at least
80% in each of the General Knowledge, Practical Application, and Build from Scratch Exams. In order to pass the General Knowledge Test you must score at least 80% of the questions correctly. In order to pass the Practical Application Test you must score at least 80% (16 out of 20) of the questions correctly. In order to pass the Build from Scratch Exam you must score 80% (8 out of 10) of the questions correctly. The General Knowledge Test is taken first. You must pass that portion before being allowed to take the Practical Application Test. If you fail any Exam, you must retake that Exam until a passing score is achieved.
Be sure to read the directions to each question carefully. Some questions require multiple answers (‘Choose all that apply’). For those questions that require multiple answers, a correct score will only be given if all correct answers are chosen. There is no partial credit. Answers that are left blank will be graded as incorrect and negatively impact your score. Furthermore, if you neglect to answer any questions upon reaching the specified time limit, those questions will be graded as incorrect
Time Limit
The 2 hour time limit for each Exam will be displayed as a timer on the exam website. Therefore, you should always be aware of the time remaining. Logging out or closing the test browser session, will NOT necessarily stop the timer. However, if you click on the ‘I want to stop taking this test’ button and confirm this action on the following page, the timer WILL stop.
Accessing the Exam again will start the timer again. Once you initially start any one of the Tests (General Knowledge or Practical Application), you will need to complete that Exam within 10 days, regardless of the amount of times you start/stop the Test or exit/reenter the exam website. Therefore, be sure to plan accordingly. Remember that any questions not answered within the allowed timeframe will be marked as incorrect and negatively impact your score.
Troubleshooting
If you experience any connectivity or functionality issues during the certification-taking experience, please reach out to [email protected] immediately and provide as much information as possible. A Dell Boomi Educational Services Team Member will respond to your inquiry promptly.

Study Options
The following are suggested:
- Take the Integration Developer I & II Practice Section (found within this Certification’s content).
- Review the materials (Articles, Reference Guide, Answers) found on the Help Dashboard within your Boomi AtomSphere Account. This includes the video resources found within the Training tab.
- Review lessons and materials obtained while attending a Boomi Training session (Integration Developer I, Integration Developer II, Jump Start, or other customized training delivery sessions).
- Practice building Processes and configuring Components on your own.
Test Taking Hints
- Remember that the Certification is open-book and open-platform. Therefore, be sure to utilize all the resources (Articles, Reference Guide, Answers, Training) found within the Help link in the AtomSphere platform while taking the Certification.
- Sometimes the best way to answer a multiple choice question is to use process of elimination. Eliminate the answers you feel are wrong to help narrow down the choices remaining for the correct answer.
- Many of these questions can be verified by building out and Testing a quick Process snippet or configuring a Component within AtomSphere.
- For the General Knowledge Section, if you’re unsure of a question, bookmark it for later. A bookmarked question will only remain bookmarked during a given logged session. Just be sure to return to answer the question(s) before the time limit expires.
